The Mobilization Mission

Cycling 1A.jpg

The mission of Mobilization Physical Therapy is to bring joy and confidence to patients' lives through physical activity.  Mobilization believes that being active brings out our best selves - physically, mentally and emotionally - but we also know that there can be many hurdles to activity.  We believe in enabling patients with research-based tools to navigate these roadblocks, or better yet, to prevent them from happening in the first place.  We don't believe that expensive equipment, hours in a gym, or pricey workout gear is necessary to be more active.  We don't believe that age, gender or fitness level should stand in the way of engaging more physically in life.  We simply want to mobilize our patients towards the joy that comes from movement!

About Me

Annie Ruffus, PT, DPT, CSCS

Doctor of Physical Therapy

Owner of Mobilization

Hello!  I'm a doctorate-level physical therapist with 17 years of experience in orthopedics and sports medicine.  My career has been dedicated to helping others discover that movement is the body's best medicine to heal injury and prevent disease.  I founded Mobilization PT to deliver these services in a high-quality, individualized and efficient model of care.

My expertise lies in orthopedics, sports injuries, pre- and post-surgical care, exercise science and strength & conditioning.  I have worked side by side with orthopedic surgeons for my entire career and have been instrumental in the development of post-operative rehab protocols.  I arrive at a physical therapy diagnosis after thorough clinical examination and by using expert clinical judgement.  I integrate the science of the Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) into treatments and prevention, as this approach takes into account the body's neurological, respiratory, circulatory, muscular and vision systems. I will always refer to the appropriate provider if I feel that further diagnostics or work-ups are required.

I'm immersed in the Seacoast community not only as a therapist, but as a resident, parent and volunteer.   I live in Hampton with my husband and our two school-aged daughters.  I love being active with my family and friends in the mountains or at the beach, but usually you'll find me trying to eek out a jog, lifting weights, digging in the garden, or going about my mom routine around town.
